This is just great music. I saw the television program on PBS and loved it. I had to have the CD.
Hey editorial review guy.The best song on the album is Annie Lennox performing "Hush,Hush,Hush" and it's buy the very under rated "PAULA" Cole, Not Holly Cole whoever that is.I would hope amazon screens the editorial reviews before they print them.
John Mayer and Sting are shown in a totally different light. What a wonderful compilation of musicians and an awesome display of the talent that made them famous. Joss Stone is awesome. This is an excellent choice if you love great music and have a love of jazz. I totally recommend this to every one who wants to broaden their music library.
This is excellence in music--a nice variety. Herbie Hancock has evolved into a genre that includes other musicians. It's a pleasant change even though my favorite album is still "Head Hunter".
I'm a piano teacher and jazz piano player. Anyway, this is about Herbie, and the album provides a good introduction to why he's the man. you have to hear her with Herbie.
It's great because you get Herbie's legendary jazz piano playing in a lot of different settings with interesting and mostly succussful results. a pop singer with an alter-ego. One of my student's parents gave this to me.
she's so good it's scary. Especially notable are the remake of Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I Love You" (Stevie plays a solo, but is not the singer)., Angelique Kidjo and Santana, a stunning performance by Christina Aguilera (if she made an entire album of material like this, it would possibly be one of the greatest jazz vocal albums ever. how can somebody even say something like that.
almost as ridiculous as if Britney Spears were cutting jazz records on the side like Ella F or Sarah V--totally not fair. Check out the guest artists and the songs, and if you know and like them, you'll love this album.
